Consulting and Assistance
The International Affairs Department is responsible for all international matters of Bingen UAS and the first point of contact for our partner universities and foreign exchange students as well as staff interested in an Erasmus+ staff mobility.
We would like to support all international students so that you can successfully master your studies and feel right at home here at Bingen Technical University of Applied Sciences. To do so, we offer a wide range of support services to incoming students. If you have any individual questions, please contact us. If we cannot help you ourselves, we will be happy to put you in touch with the right person: incoming[at]th-bingen.de.
Events for exchange students
We offer a number of events designed for this purpose, and would be happy if you took advantage of these opportunities!
Networking @ International Get-Together
Studying means only mountains of books, lectures earlier in the morning, exam anxiety...? No, not at all! Those from the old semesters would say “These are the best years of your life” – and they would be right. Now that the COVID has disappeared into the box of bad memories, we can finally enjoy student life at Bingen Technical UAS again. Following the motto “strangers become friends”, the International Affairs Department invited German and international students to a networking event, which took place in the beautiful Park am Mäuseturm in Bingen.
Orientation week
Before the beginning of the semester, the International Affairs Department organizes an orientation week. This orientation week is intended for the international exchange students in the program ERASMUS+, CDHAW, IGCHE and mdhk respectively for Freemovers, so that they can find their way in the daily study routine in Germany. Participation is mandatory for all exchange students as well as for double degree seekers.
International lunch break
International Lunch Break takes place several times during the semester at the AStA premises during lunchtime. International students cook traditional dishes and delicacies at the university to present their home countries. Here you will find true culinary variety and a great opportunity to get in touch with international students or students with an international interest. To participate, please read the news and notices at the university which will inform you about the dates beforehand.
German language classes

Upon availability, the International Affairs Department of Bingen UAS regularly organizes German language classes for its international exchange students in cooperation with the adult education center (Volkshochschule Bingen). Language proficiency is of fundamental importance for the success of your studies. The acquisition of such language proficiency does not end with the passing of the DSH or TestDaF exam. On the contrary, it should be continued throughout your studies. The better your knowledge of German, the easier it will be for you to study.
The courses offered are exclusively for enrolled international exchange students of the TH Bingen and are free of charge for them. No German courses are currently offered for degree-seeking international students, who are not enrolled in a double degree program.
Please note: Bingen UAS does not offer DSH preparation courses or exams for applicants!
Living in Bingen
Bingen is an ideal place for students to live. The cost of renting a flat is moderate, and the quality of life in this lovely city on the Rhine is high. We would be happy to assist you if you are in need of accommodations, and will send you information as soon as we receive your application.
