How to get to TH Bingen

We are delighted that you have chosen TH Bingen!
Everything you need to know about applying and enrolling can be found here.

What you need to know:

First things first: Please check that you’ve prepared all the required documents for your application.
You’ll find a full overview in the checklist, which you can download at the bottom of this page.

  1. Step 1: Online Application
Register on the inCampo application portal and complete your online application there.
Submit your application online within the deadline – there’s no need to send anything by post.

Upload your university entrance qualification, your CV, and – if required – any additional supporting documents.
Please note: Only PDF files are accepted.

  2. Step 2: Application Review
Once your application has been received, we will review your documents.
Please check the application portal regularly to see the current processing status of your application.
If we need any additional information or documents, you’ll receive a notification there.

As soon as your application is complete and you can be admitted, your letter of admission will be available for download in the portal.
It will not be sent by post and includes all the important information about enrolment.

  3. Step 3: Online Enrolment
You will also use inCampo for your enrolment.
Complete the online enrolment form and submit it electronically – again, no postal submission is required.

Please upload a passport photo, which will be used for your student ID.

All done?
Once we’ve received all the required enrolment documents and your fees have been paid, you’ll be officially enrolled.
Before the semester begins, your login details will be available for download in the portal.
With these, you can, for example, access your digital student ID via the TH Bingen app.

We wish you a great start to your studies at TH Bingen!

  • Please remember: Make sure to submit your complete application for the degree programme on time.
  • To prove your higher education entrance qualification, please upload your school certificates or a recognised vocational qualification.
  • To be admitted to a Master’s programme, you need a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area.
  • If you’re applying for an English-taught Master’s programme, you’ll need to provide proof of sufficient English language skills.
If you’re applying for a German-taught programme and German is not your first language, you must provide proof of your German language proficiency.

To be admitted to a Master’s programme, you need a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area with a minimum final grade of 2.5 (German grading scale).

If your final grade is up to 3.0, it may still be worth applying if you can provide additional qualifications, such as:

  • practical experience in the relevant field,
  • completion of your degree within the standard period of study,
  • active involvement in student representation, or
  • a semester abroad.

In such cases, your application will be assessed individually, but please note that admission cannot be guaranteed.

You can find the specific academic requirements for your Bachelor’s degree on the information pages of each Master’s programme.

There are many different ways to start your studies with us – not just with the traditional A-levels!

General or subject-specific higher education entrance qualification
With this qualification, you can start your studies at TH Bingen right away.

No A-levels? You can still apply
If you left school after Year 12, you can still qualify for admission:
→ Combine your school leaving certificate with one year of practical experience, a Voluntary Social Year (FSJ) or a Voluntary Ecological Year (FÖJ), and you’ll meet the entry requirements.
For a practice-integrated degree programme, we may even admit you without the additional practical year.

Starting your degree with a vocational qualification
If you have completed a recognised vocational training programme with a final grade of 2.5 or better, you are eligible to study at a University of Applied Sciences.
For work-integrated degree programmes, a grade of up to 3.0 is sufficient if you also have at least three years of professional experience and a recommendation from your employer.

Master craftsman and advanced qualifications
If you hold a master craftsman’s certificate or an equivalent advanced qualification, you are also eligible to study – regardless of your final grade.

Advisory service for professionally qualified applicants
If you plan to apply through a vocational route, we offer a personal consultation before the start of your studies. Simply contact the programme-specific advisory service for your chosen degree.

Not sure if your qualification is enough?
No worries – our Central Student Advisory Service will be happy to check whether your certificates meet the admission requirements.

For the winter semester, the application period starts on 15 November.
For the summer semester, it begins on 2 May.

You can find the application deadlines for each semester here.

For your enrolment, we require proof of your health insurance coverage.
Please note that due to legal regulations, we can only accept this proof electronically.

Please contact your health insurance provider and ask them to send the notification electronically to TH Bingen.
The sender number for TH Bingen is H0001634.

If you have private health insurance, please also contact a statutory health insurance provider. They will electronically confirm that you are exempt from the compulsory statutory health insurance.

For enrolment and re-registration in subsequent semesters, please transfer the semester fee. You can find the amount and the included services here.

Please find more information about the specific requirements.

No. You apply via our portal inCampo and upload all required documents directly with your application. There is no need to send anything by post.

No, simple but clearly readable scans of your documents are sufficient.

You can find the deadlines on our website. The application period for the winter semester usually begins in early May and for the summer semester in mid-November.
The application process is completely digital and takes place on our application portal, inCampo.

You can easily upload the documents to the application portal.

After submitting your application, you have four weeks to submit any missing documents, but no later than the start of lectures. If the documents are still incomplete after this period, we will not be able to consider your application further.

Please be patient. The submitted documents must first be reviewed and processed by the administration before your status changes. This process is not automated.

Yes, you can submit up to three applications. As all of our degree programmes are open admission, you will be admitted provided you meet the admission requirements. Submitting multiple applications will not increase your chances of being offered a place.

If you would like someone else to submit your application and enrolment on your behalf and receive information about your personal data from us, we require a letter of attorney. A form for this purpose can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.

You can track the status of your application in the application portal.
The individual statuses have the following meanings:

  • Received: You have successfully submitted your application. It will now be reviewed by the Student Secretariat.
  • Documents missing: We require additional documents from you. These will be listed in the application portal.
  • Valid: Your application is complete and is currently being reviewed. You will receive a notification in the next step.
  • Offer of admission available: Congratulations! You have secured a place at university. You can download your letter of admission from the application portal. It also explains the next steps.
  • Rejected: Unfortunately, we were unable to offer you a place at university. The reasons for this can be found in the rejection letter, which you can download from the application portal.

You will be notified as soon as your application has been reviewed. Please understand that applications for higher semesters or master's programmes require more time to review and that there may be a waiting period before you receive a response.

All of our degree programmes are open admission. This means that the number of places available is not limited. If you submit your application within the application period and meet the admission requirements, you will be admitted.

After the application period has ended, all application accounts will be deleted. Please register again. Registration will be possible again as soon as the new application period begins.

All necessary documents and further steps will be explained to you in the letter of admission.

You may enrol in multiple degree programmes. However, please note that this will likely extend the duration of your studies.

After you have applied online via our application portal, you will receive a notification based on the information you provided in your application. If you have been admitted, your notification will include a period during which you can enrol. If you are unable to meet this deadline, please contact the Student Secretariat within the specified period.

After enrolling, you will receive your login details for services such as inCampo, OLAT and your university email account in the student portal.
You can find the file containing your login details in the portal under ‘My Studies’ > ‘Study Services’ in the ‘Notifications/Certificates’ tab.

No, A-levels or Fachabitur are not strictly required. The following qualifications also qualify you for university admission:

  • Vocational qualification: Completed vocational training with a final grade of 2.5 or better.
  • Master craftsman’s certificate or equivalent advanced training qualification: Final grade does not matter.
  • Work-integrated degree programmes: Completed vocational training with a grade of 3.0 or better plus at least three years of professional experience.
