A strong practical focus, high-quality teaching and a personal atmosphere are the hallmarks of studying at Bingen University. The International Office supports you with a wide range of services.
Bingen University of Applied Sciences is a dynamic university that combines progress, tradition and practical relevance. Around 2,600 students are taught intensively in a personal atmosphere on the campus in Bingen-Büdesheim, which was inaugurated in 1987, and in the historic town building.
The university was founded in 1897 as the Rheinisches Technikum. The good infrastructure and the scenic location at the confluence of the Rhine and Nahe rivers were decisive factors in the choice of location. Since then, students have been offered practical and future-oriented technology training, which continues to make Bingen an attractive university location today.
Please note that our degree programmes are taught in German. Very good German language skills must therefore be demonstrated for admission to a degree programme.

Bingen am Rhein is a district town in the Mainz-Bingen district, in the beautiful federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
At the gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, Bingen lies at the intersection of four regions and their wine-growing areas: Rheinhessen, Nahe, Middle Rhine and Rheingau.
Quote from UNESCO:
‘The 65 km long Middle Rhine Valley with its castles, historic towns and vineyards is an expression of a long history of human intervention in a dramatic and diverse natural landscape. The valley is rich in history and legends and has exerted a strong influence on writers, artists and composers for centuries.’
