Funding

How to finance the stay abroad

Travel expenses, higher living costs than in the UK, or possible tuition fees: a stay abroad often means additional costs. How expensive it will be depends on your choice of study or internship location. However, the decisive factor for the total costs is whether or not tuition fees are charged. Erasmus+, PROMOS, DAAD scholarships, Fulbright, Auslands-BAföG, foundations... We help you find your way through the financing jungle and advise you on the various options for obtaining financial support for your stay abroad.

Erasmus+ and others

The Erasmus+ programme is the largest mobility programme at Bingen UAS and in Europe. It aims to promote the international mobility of students and university staff. The participating universities conclude bilateral agreements at subject level, which define the type, scope and duration of the cooperation. You can find the Erasmus+ partner universities and all other partner universities on our website.
Erasmus+ offers many added benefits for students. For example, you do not have to pay any tuition fees at the partner universities. In addition, the credits you earn there are recognised at Bingen UAS via a previously agreed learning agreement, and in addition to an Erasmus study place, you also receive financial support via Erasmus+.

Erasmus+ (running from 2021 to 2027) is the European Union's programme for education, youth and sport. More than three million students across Europe have been supported by Erasmus since 1987. This makes Erasmus the most important and best-known mobility programme.
Under the current Erasmus+ programme generation, students can also receive funding for a stay abroad to study at an Erasmus+ partner university or for an internship in one of the Erasmus+ programme countries. Funding opportunities are available for (teaching) staff for short-term lectureships and further training stays.

Stays abroad can be financially supported by Bingen UAS in the form of partial scholarships. For stays in Erasmus+ participating countries, you can receive an Erasmus+ scholarship. International stays outside the Erasmus+ programme can also supported financially by the International Office. I
