FAQ for international applicants
Whether your qualifications make you eligible for a Bachelor's or Master's degree at TH Bingen is assessed on our behalf by uni-assist. So before applying to us, you must first submit an application to uni-assist.
Once your documents have been successfully reviewed, uni-assist will issue a preliminary review documentation (VPD). You’ll need to upload this VPD along with your other application documents when applying to TH Bingen.
Important: Processing at uni-assist can take around 6 to 8 weeks, so please make sure to submit your application in good time.
If you’d like a first idea of how your qualifications compare within the German education system, you can check the Anabin database.
The T course or TI course qualifies students for all degree programmes. For degree programmes with a focus on medicine and biology, the M course also qualifies students.
The Vorprüfungsdokumentation (preliminary review documentation) is only relevant if you obtained your qualifications abroad. In such cases, an individual assessment is required to determine whether your qualifications are sufficient for studying at TH Bingen. This evaluation is carried out by uni-assist, a central service organisation that supports many German universities in processing international applications.
Uni-assist checks your foreign academic records on our behalf: they assess whether you meet the university entrance requirements, which certificates are recognised, and how your grades are converted into the German grading system. The results of this assessment are documented in your VPD – your official proof for the application process.
Once you receive your VPD, you can apply for your chosen degree programme through our online application portal.
Uni-assist usually needs 6 to 8 weeks for this.
So make sure you take care of it in good time!
